Inner World of Overgiving

II

Easy to Love

You don’t decide
to become easy to love.

It happens quietly.

You notice what works.
What keeps things smooth.

And you adjust.

A word softened.
A need delayed.

Not to change yourself—
but to keep things close.

Because closeness matters.

And at some point,
it may not have felt guaranteed.

So you pay attention.

To what lands.
To what doesn’t.

And you begin to stay
just inside those lines.

It feels like care.
And it is.

But it’s also selective.

Some parts of you
move forward easily.
Others fall back.

Not gone—
just quieter.

So you keep choosing
what works.

What keeps things steady.
What keeps you connected.

Over time,
it feels natural.

“I’m easygoing.”
“I don’t need much.”

And sometimes, that’s true.

But not always.

There are moments
you want more.

More space.
More honesty.

But those moments hesitate.
They don’t feel as safe.

So they pass.

And what remains
is what works.

Easy.
Manageable.
Accepted.

But over time,
something narrows.

Not all at once.

Just in what gets expressed—
and what doesn’t.

Until you’re living
in a version of yourself
that fits.

But not fully.
