Fairness is easy to support in the abstract.
Most of us believe people should be treated fairly. We object when someone cheats, takes more than their share, receives an advantage they did not earn, or uses power against someone weaker.
The harder questions begin when fairness asks something from us.
What if speaking up makes tomorrow uncomfortable?
What if playing fairly puts us behind?
What if someone we love benefits from the unfairness?
What if correcting it costs money, safety, opportunity, or belonging?
And what if something unfair happens that cannot be corrected at all?
This book is about those moments.
